The front desk folks were very friendly and professional. It's an older motel, typical of the area, but the property is very clean an well kept. Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels available at the pool. Was nice to have a laundry facility available. Breakfast was basic, but plentiful.

The hotel rooms are quaint and homey. The biggest complaint we had was this: There was apparently a lumbering herd of elk in the room above us. All night long, nothing but stomping, squeaking, stomping, and it was loud banging. We tried to call the front desk around 1am to complain. No one was there to answer the phones. The recording said the office was CLOSED! NO help.
We tried knocking on the ceiling several times. Nothing. We finally had to turn on our fan to try to drown out the noise. Nothing worked. We finally went to sleep around 4am out of exhaustion. Not crazy about No one being in the office to help you..If it was a life and death situation, you would be on your own.

The Art of Smart Timing
The most popular season to visit Estes Park, Colorado is the summer, though winter is a wonderful time to explore the area, and you'll find slightly cheaper hotel rates at this time.
Getting There
Hotel Estes is about 1.5 hours from Denver, and you'll want your own vehicle to get there -- especially so you can make stops for scenic photos in Roosevelt National Forest, a beautifully desolate area that leads to Estes Park. Note that you will likely service for a brief period of time, but don't worry -- there's only one road that leads to Estes Park.
Getting Around
You'll also want your own car to explore the area, and free parking is available at the hotel. While you can also utilize the free Estes Park Shuttles, they don't stop at Hotel Estes.
