Admittedly, this is not an ideal hotel for families with young children. There’s no pool and the hotel dining room specializes in creative cuisine that might not appeal to little ones. However, if you’re a single parent traveling with an older child, perhaps for a college visit to Springfield, this boutique hotel downtown is a trendy option that will show your teenager that he or she is no longer a child in your eyes. The Hotel Vandivort is adjacent to the children’s theatre and across the street from Gailey’s, the best breakfast spot in Springfield.

I chose to spend the extra dollars because this hotel was close to my wedding venue (within walking distance) and it was well worth it! Downtown is right there, and parking is free on the weekends if you don’t want valet. The explorer room had a sitting area, great for getting ready and hanging out with my bridesmaids and a big tub and counter for getting ready. They also had robes and great storage space in the closet/mini kitchenette area. Highly recommend!

Thank you for an amazing stay.
My room - with a lovely balcony - was super. Thank you.
Point of arrival with the plethora of doormen was excellent. Happy smiley people who could not have done more.
Front desk - lovely people.
The lifts - how cool are they. I kept turning to look in the mirror. A much better view every time!
A super hotel and you should open up more.
Was the second best hotel of my eight nights from LV to Chicago, second only to The Langham in Chicago.
