We travelled to New Jersey which was a first for both my Wife and myself, we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Elizabeth New Jersey. The hotel was just a base as most of the time we spent in New York.
The hotel was very clean, the staff were very polite and helpful, we only used the restaurant area for breakfast but the food was great, hot and we did not have to wait long for it to be cooked. The hotel serves Starbucks coffee which was a bonus.
The rooms were a good size with a King size bed, desk, TV, two seater couch and foot stool, the bed was made for us while we were out and the towels were changed.
We were on the sixth floor looking out towards the front of the building, there is a view of New York but from a distance, but this was a little blocked by the number of cranes building the new terminal at the airport. We asked for a later check out so we could go to the Jersey Gardens Mall, which is just a short walk over the road, and this was no problem. There was little noise from the planes overhead in a morning but was not a problem for us. There is a drinks maker and an ice bucket with glasses and cups, tea and coffee are available. There was no noise through the night in the hotel as they have a quiet time between 9pm and 8am. There is an ironing board and iron also a hair dryer.
The only negative things I would have to say would be, when our cups were taken away while we were out none were put back so we could not make a drink in the morning so we had to go down to the bar area. The biggest issue for us would be the shuttle service, it is supposed to run every half an hour on the hour and half past the hour 24 hours, but on both occasions when we returned from New York at 12:15am and 12:45am, we had to stand around for 35 minutes the first time and 40 minutes the second time, during this time there were shuttles from every hotel in New Jersey most came two times and some even came three times in the end we had to call to get ours. I would definitely use the hotel again but if I chose another it would be because of the shuttle service.

We picked this hotel before our cruise out of Cape Liberty. Even though it is in an industrial type area it was just fine. It's within a short walk to Ruby Tuesdays, Ihop and the outlet mall across the street which by the way is a very nice large mall.
My son in law booked this with his points. He is at the top tier with the rewards with Marriott so they upgraded me to a suite. It was very nice and large. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful as was all other employees.
The suite was very clean and had all that we needed..comfy bed, iron/ironing board, refrigerator, microwave, sofa and chair, large vanity.
The only con to this hotel is it DOES NOT offer any shuttle service to the cruise port. The hotel next door and across the street does. We were able to go nextdoor and pay a $20 fee pp to get on their shuttle. It worked out ok, had to drag all of our luggage over there but would have been nice to have had it at this hotel. Not sure why they don't but they really should..especially because the other hotels nearby do. Because of this, I probably would not book here again if I'm going on a cruise. I would try the other two hotels first. But they do offer free shuttle to/from airport after you take the tram just wait in the hotel zone for shuttle.
Free breakfast would have been nice but at least they do have a small bar area where you can buy food.
