My husband and I just recently stayed at this charming bed and breakfast. The grounds are absolutely impeccable and is located in the perfect location on the island. Jean Philippe and his wife are great hosts, they gave us many recommendations as where to eat and what beaches to visit, plus they make you feel so welcome. We truly fell in love with everything St. barths has to offer and are already planning our trip back.
A couple of recommendations for anyone travelling to the island. You must rent a car or a scooter. The island is small but you definitely want to explore all the little beaches and the local restaurants it has to offer, it's a much cheaper option than taking taxis. Number one beach to visit is Gouverneur Beach, it has the bluest water I have ever seen and the ride down to the beach is breath taking. Best lunch spot and burger on the island is JoJo Burgers. Nestled right off Lorient Beach, the food is excellent and the service is great. Get the cheeseburger, it is by far the best one I have ever eaten. I didn't know something so simple could be so good. Best casual dinner spot is Cantina, located in the heart of gustavia it has the best views of the harbor. If you get anything try the patatas bravas, the portion is huge and comes with the best garlic aioli. It's a great spot that won't break the bank and perfect for sharing plates. Best fancy dinner would have to be Le Tamarin, this was the most beautiful restaurant I have ever dined in. It's basically dining in a secret garden, from the outside you would never guess how beautiful the inside is. They have hanging tea lights from all the branches and it is truly romantic. Get the gnocchi with the lamb, my mouth is still salavating from how wonderful it was. Best party spots: Friday night Bagatelle, it's fancy dining mixed with a night club, they have the best dance party and the waiters are awesome. Saturday night: Le Ti, it's a cabaret show while you eat; once dinner is finished they dress everyone in funny costumes and the dining area turns into a dance floor. Get the steak it was delicious. Sunday Day: Nikki Beach, this had to have been my favorite day of the vacation. The restaurant is located on St. Jean beach and is completely open, you can swim as you eat. They have a DJ and a man who plays the saxophone, he really turned up the whole party. People were dancing on the tables and just having a great time. The food was also amazing, definitely get the pizza and ask for chili oil to drizzle on top.
Overall St. Barths is a magical place and we will definitely be back. The food, atmosphere and people were all amazing.
