Plan to spend more than just the dinner hour at the White Fence Farm, in Denver’s suburb of Lakewood. After all, you may not be able drag your preschoolers away from petting the animals in the O.K. Corral, climbing in the playground, or riding the “pig chute” in the barn. Older kids like the pinball and arcade games in the silo. While the kids play, adults browse the “Colorado Christmas” and “Country Cottage” gift shops. Before you know it, your table will be ready (reservations only for groups of 15 or more) for your family-style meal of fried chicken, NY strip steak, roasted turkey breast and other entrees served with hot-corn fritters, pickled beets, creamy coleslaw and other sides. White Fence Farm is open Tuesday through Saturday, 4:30 until 8:30 p.m., Sunday 11:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. and is closed in January.
