Did you know that Thai Airways offers in-flight nanny services, or that Turkish Airways offers signature toy sets for all kid passengers?
Kids’ perks are a growing trend on international airlines, with two airlines announcing new programs this week.
Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways has launched a kids’ club! Oryx Kids’ Club centers around Orry and Orah the Oryx and their three friends, Kamil the camel, Faaiz the falcon and Farah the desert fox. The new children’s program features special kids’ meals — served in adorable boxes — as well as signature plush toys.
The airline has also launched a loyalty program for kids ages 2 to 11. Kids can actually earn miles — called Qmiles — that can be redeemed for rewards. They can earn Qpoints for future flight upgrades, as well. Children can then track their points and miles on a dedicated kids’ section on the Qatar Airways website.
The airline is essentially encouraging kids to be kid AND adult travelers, learning the ins and outs of traveling (and getting inspired to travel too)!
Air New Zealand
Air New Zealand’s Sky Couch was originally designed for and marketed to adult travelers and couples. But the airline has announced it’s encouraging families to use it! Up to two young children can comfortably fit side by side on the Sky Couch — perfect for sleeping and relaxing in-flight.
