The 81-acre Wild Center in New York State’s Adirondack region is adding a new summer sound experience this Memorial Day Weekend. iForest, an immersive sound experience, will broadcast a choral work by professional chamber choir The Crossing throughout the outdoor pathways to create an enticing and magical walk.
British award-winning composer Pete M. Wyer was commission to create the nature-inspired work, transforming the wooded path with the voices of 72 individually recorded voices singing on 24 hidden speakers. As visitors walk, their speed and the weather will alter the musical experience.
The Wild Center is located in Tupper Lake, New York, and is currently open Fridays through Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, families can enjoy the Wild Walk from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. Admission is $20 for adults and $13 for children ages 5 to 17. (Free for 4 and younger.)
