The historic Astor Crowne Plaza – New Orleans French Quarter hotel unveiled its new look following a $13-million renovation. Located on the corner of Canal and Bourbon Streets, the Astor is one of New Orleans’ oldest hotels.
All 700 rooms in the hotel received a facelift, including new furniture, carpeting, light fixtures and more. Hallways, meeting spaced, and the lobby also got revitalized. The Astor is comprised of two buildings: the six-story original brick Alexa Tower from 1852 and the newer portion of the hotel, which occupies the former Woolworth store and is home to Dickie Brennan’s Bourbon House Restaurant and Seafood Bar.
The hotel remained open during renovations, which are 100 percent complete.
