Southwest Airlines is continuing its push into international markets with the addition of a direct flight from Houston to Costa Rica, launching this month.
The new service will provide daily, direct flights from Houston’s Hobby International Airport to San Jose, Costa Rica. Hobby hasn’t offered international service since 1969, but this month also completes a $156-million new five-gate international concourse. Southwest began offering service from Houston to Aruba earlier this year, with pre-clearance customs processing taking place at Queen Beatrix International Airport, as Hobby did not have customs for international flights until the opening of its new concourse.
Southwest will also begin offering direct flights to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Belize.
