If you have dreamed of taking the kids on the Great American Road Trip in an RV, your dreams have gotten closer. A new company, Outdoorsy, is making it easier for travelers to rent RVs. In a model similar to Airbnb, families can rent RVs directly from local RV owners.
The site launched this year and currently has more than 2,000 RVs available, with prices beginning at $65 per day and climbing by style, features and comfort to $650 per day. Rentals may offer extras, such as grills for BBQ and outdoor equipment, for additional fee. Outdoorsy is adding 75 new RVs options each day.
For families, RV rentals is another option to accommodate a larger group. RVs provide sleeping and dining accommodations, and minus the price of fuel, may be cheaper than adding up airfare, rental cars and hotel rooms needed.
