The Jersey Shore’s Asbury Park, made famous in song by legendary musician Bruce Springsteen, is receiving a multi-billion dollar redevelopment to its 1.25-mile waterfront.
The Jersey Shore redevelopment will include hotel, infrastructure and residential projects, including the creation of the first hotel to be built in Ashbury Park in 30 years. The new Ashbury hotel will be a 110-room boutique hotel opening in early summer 2016.
Developer iStar is creating 19 new projects for Asbury Park besides the hotel, include 1101 Ocean, a mixed-use hotel/condo/retail building, which will transform a concrete high rise that has been vacant for more than 20 years. The popular music and bowling venue, Ashbury Lanes, will also be receiving a refresh during the boardwalk rebuild.
