Bermuda’s Hamilton Princess Unveils More Renovation

The 130-year-old iconic Hamilton Princess Hotel in Bermuda is unveiling phase two of its $90-million renovation next month.

Phase Two includes a complete renovation of 88 guest rooms and suites in the Hamilton Princess’ Gazebo Wing, including upgraded Wi-Fi and audio visual features. The new palette of coral and cream with dark woods are meant to emulate the essence of the island’s pink-sand beaches.

The renovation also includes the opening of the new harbor side restaurant, Marcus’, named for its celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson. Located in the former Gazebo Room, the restaurant features an open kitchen with wood-fired barbecue pit and an outdoor terrace overlooking the marina. The hotel’s former lobby bar also gets a new look and a new name as the Crown & Anchor, which will offer breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner with indoor and outdoor seating. The new restaurants will open May 27, 2015.

Guests of the hotel will also be able to experience the Princess Beach Club on the island’s South Shore this summer. The new club will be a place for guests to sunbathe, swim and snorkel, and will feature a range of water sports. Vans will continually run between the club and the hotel throughout the season. Samuelsson’s menu will allow be available at the club’s beach bar/restaurant.

Rates for the Hamilton Princess start at $429 per night.
