New York City’s One World Trade Center will open its observatory to the public this May, offering the highest panoramic views in the Western Hemisphere.
One World Observatory, which sits on the 100 through 102 floors, will open on May 29. Visitors will ride to the observatory in less than a minute via a Sky Pod elevator. The elevator features a virtual time-lapse that illustrates the changing New York skyline from its origins to the present day. Once disembarking, they will encounter panoramic views in every direction. A “City Pulse” interactive skyline on video monitors will showcase landmarks and point out what visitors are seeing, while a “Sky Portal” will showcase real-time footage of what’s taking place on the New York City streets below.
Tickets are on sale now and should be purchased in advance, as the observatory will be a popular attraction. Admission is $32 for ages 13 and up, $26 for children 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and younger. Purchase tickets on the official website.
