It was only a matter of time, considering so many cities have one (or more) of them — an observation deck is coming to Philadelphia. Montparnasse 56, which created observation decks in Chicago and Paris, is bringing a similar structure to Philly next year.
The new vista point will be located in the 61-story Liberty Place One building on Market Street in Center City. The building currently houses the 150,000-square-foot Shops at Liberty Place retail center that features more than 60 stores and 15 fast food options in a food court, as well as the Westin Philadelphia hotel.
An official name for the observation deck hasn’t been announced, but it will be on the 57th floor and is slated to open in Summer 2015.
