The luxurious hotel rooms and suites at the Los Angeles Athletic Club just grew with the edition of its pop-up summer suites.
Urban Castaway transforms one of the hotel’s nine suites into a special shipwrecked island suite featuring a living room lagoon with a custom-design boat bed, a master suite with a canopied bamboo bed, island greenery, glowing lanterns, and island-inspired amenities such as a “rescue” helicopter ride to the airport and tropical movies like “Castaway,” “Blue Lagoon” and “Life of Pi.” (A Wilson volleyball is even part of the decor!)
The Urban Camping package, which originally debuted in 2013, is still available, converting the room into a campsite with a tented bed, teepee, camp decor and a camping surveil kit with fresh trail mix, hiking maps, S’mores and campy movies like “Friday the 13th.”
The Urban Castaway package starts at $549 per night with room for four guests, and the Urban Camping package starts at $429 per night. Both include overnight parking, American Breakfast buffet and, of course, access to the 80,000-square-foot athletic club.
The Los Angeles Athletic Club first opened in 1880 as a membership club in Los Angeles. After a recent multi-million dollar renovation, the club renovated 72 hotel rooms with nine themed suites.
