Universal Studios Hollywood will be opening a new ride and playland this spring, based on the Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s hit film, “Despicable Me.”
The new 3D Ultra-HD adventure ride, “Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem,” will take guests through the film’s neighborhoods and homes, voiced by the film’s original stars, including Steve Carell as “Gru.” The Super Silly Fun Land interactive play area will open adjacent to the new ride as a colorfully themed outdoor venue. Kids will be able to climb, crawl, jump and slide aboard amusement rides and play areas, as well as enjoy water play features, fountains and splash pools. Children will also have a chance to take photos with Minions throughout the day.
Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem opened at Universal Studios Orlando in 2012, but the Super Silly Fun Land is unique to the Hollywood location.
