This hotel is undergoing renovation and I took this into consideration. However, it was dirty, service was horrible and staff was rude. No excuses for this. I will not stay here again even though it is in a great location.

It is a shame to have to give them even one star. The issues with this hotel go far beyond the current lobby renovation. The guest rooms themselves are in serious disrepair. They are old, dingy and in desperate need of upgrades. I changed rooms due to the smell of mildew that was not much different in the second room. The bathroom door looked as if a wild animal had gnawed at it and paint was the attempted cover up. There were holes in the carpet, missing nobs on dressers, peeling wallpaper, broken tiles, a leaking bath (more like running), and a shower diverter that did not work. For some reason there is a sink in the bedroom. Customer service related to the maintenance issue of the bath was nonresponsive. “Would you like for us to fix it?” Seriously if you have to ask that question then you need to be retrained. No please, I love leaking faucets and laying down in the bath to wash my hair. Makes me feel so nimble. This hotel charges a lot of money per night for such crappy service and quality accommodations. Stay away.
Family Activities
Nearby Activities
Several kid-activities call to the little guys in Buckhead, including the LEGOLAND Discovery Center, the Atlanta History Center, and Oxford Comics. When your darlings start the drop-and-whine, pick up your own glass of wine or a mixed drink at the hotel's evening reception, and toss the crankies into one of the property's two pools. (Kids emerge friendly.)
Koi Pond
The hotel has a delightful koi pond that children love to "ooh and ahh" over. Koi are hilarious to watch as they vie for incoming treats. Staff feed the Embassy Suites koi at about 8 a.m. every day, but ask staff for specifics on the serving time.
Pools
The hotel has both an indoor pool with a whirlpool and an outdoor pool that sits on the second floor. Both are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Family Dining

Complimentary Evening Reception
Relax in the utterly comfortable atrium and enjoy a glass of wine or a mixed drink. Kids love the soft drinks and lemonade and everyone digs the light snacks -- chips and salsa, pretzels, and veggies. Available from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Ruth's Chris Steak House
Ruth's Chris Steak House Buckhead sits inside the hotel and is a treat for your eyes - the dining room and bar are clubby luxurious - and a raucous party for your taste buds. Enjoy a menu made for adults: steak, shrimp, lobster, chicken, enormous sides and desserts. Tip: Share the huge sides.

The Art of Smart Timing
The world has discovered Atlanta. The city is often ranked in the "Top Ten" of cities for visitors in the U.S. If you prefer your popular cities on the quiet side, spring and fall both drip in seasonal beauty, but beware of Atlanta's penchant for parades, fairs, and festivals. If you really dislike crowds, avoid Labor Day weekend unless you want to meet the Dragon Con fans (65,000 Star Wars types flood Atlanta). Summer is busy and hot, so plan to play outside in the mornings; head for the pool or museums in the afternoons. Winters can be warm, chilly, and occasionally snowy.
Getting There
The world's busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, is a breeze -- seriously. This airport has received the "Efficiency Excellence" award from the Air Transport Research Society for 12 years in a row. (And Atlantans would be much obliged if you'd use the airport's full - super long - name. Mayors Hartsfield and Jackson were much loved Atlanta mayors and locals want them remembered.) The airport is about a 30-minute drive from the hotel without traffic.
Getting Around
The Embassy Suites offers valet parking at $27 per night and self-parking at $22 per night. Great news: this Embassy Suites has a shuttle operating from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and will chauffeur you within a 1-mile radius of the hotel.
For Mom and Dad
Mom and dad can definitely check out Ruth's Chris Steak House on property at the Embassy Suites, but if you can enjoy an evening without the kids, consider slipping off property and dining at the awesome Maggiano's Little Italy (excellent for kids too; huge, delish meals) or Chama Gaucha (a high quality steakhouse receiving standing ovations from the high-expectations Buckhead crowd).
