This is one of the cheaper all inclusive offerings on the island and, when you acknowledge that and also appreciate that some areas of the building date back 200+ years, you have to be impressed with this hotel.
The main buffet restaurant, Drifters, is, at best, 3* but the a la carte option, Rachel’s is very good. We didn’t try Chopstix, the Asian option.
It’s worth paying a little extra for the Virgin Club room option. I don’t think you get a better room but you do get the Deck which is an area of the beach with more luxurious sun loungers, personal service, cocktails, snacks etc. You also get a better choice for lunch.
What makes this hotel special is the service. All the staff work tirelessly to make your stay an experience to remember.
WiFi is fine throughout but a little unreliable on the beach.
Our favourite cocktail is a BBC which is banana, Bacardi and coconut. Creamy!!
We hired a car for a day which is an experience if you like getting lost! Navigating this island is a nightmare!
We stayed in a Plantation room (217) which, at best would also be 3*. It is in the old part of the hotel, close to the road. Aircon was excellent.
So, I’m rating this 4* because of Rachel’s and the staff. The staff would get 5*. Well done team!!!
