I was attending a wedding in the area and booked my room in advance. The hotel called me the morning of the reservation and advised that they were overbooked and had to relocate me to another property. I work in the hotel industry and know this situations do happen so I was fine with relocation, knowing that since I booked my room using Marriott employee discount I would be the first one to be walked. However, a few hours later the hotel left me a voice mail that they could not find a hotel that take a reservation at employee rate and just canceled my reservation. Of course you were not able to find employee rate available on the day for the day, especially when the market got compressed! This is why I booked my room in advance!! When you overbook your hotel you take a risk of walking a guest, and if it does happen you face the consequences. Marriott walk policy states that the hotel must provide an alternative accommodation for the walked guest at the comparable hotel and cover the rate difference. And it is not any different for the employees reservation. I tried calling the hotel but was put on hold every time before even being able to say a word; I talked to Marriott customer service and we were on the phone for about an hour both trying to contact the property as the hotel was putting them on hold as well. I gave up eventually because I was part of the wedding and could not be on the phone any longer. So I was left with no hotel, in the middle of the wedding, having to look for an accommodation very last minute. Thank you Residence Inn Yonkers for such a great experience.

From the moment we checked in we were pleased with our say. The front desk clerk Psalm was very nice and pleasant. The room was clean except there was quite a bit of pet hair in the carpet. This hotel accepts pets so this is a possibility but the housekeeping staff needs to clean it better or maybe they could designate specific rooms as non pet rooms. I was quite turned off from the amount of hair in the carpet. I usually stay in Residence Inn whenever I travel and this has never been a issue before. 

Overall the hotel was nice. The lobby was very nice with a modern decor. The staff was very pleasant. They offer a free hot breakfast to all guest and it was very good. The breakfast area was clean during breakfast hours.

There was an indoor pool but we didn't use it. It looked nice though. There was an Applebee's directly across the street that we walked to for dinner. Other than that the area is a bit business like.
