The hotel is a decent choice for the limited options to stay in Manhattan, but lacked in some minor, albeit key items. As noted by other reviewers, Hattie the bartender does her job well. Breakfast is free, but the coffee is poor. Luckily SB is directly across the street.
Key things for me. Wifi absolutely horrible. In this connected world, don't expect to get a connection here, phone or laptop. Second was the heater in my room. It sputtered and banged and popped all night. Granted it was rather cold outside but still.. noisy.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Bluemont Hotel. Not only was my room spacious but it was nicely arranged and quite comfortable. The lounge serves a good selection of local craft beers and several of the many (who knew?!) Kansas spirits: whiskey, gin, etc. Breakfast was always delicious. Even the coffee was good here.
Really, it doesn't get much better without spending hundreds.
