Overview

Stay in an actual castle at the Castle Hotel & Spa, which overlooks the Hudson River and wooded grounds. The small hotel offers 31 guestrooms and suites, onsite dining, and an outdoor swimming pool for summer months. Guestrooms are outfitted with flat-screen TVs, Bose sound systems, iPod docking stations, complimentary mini bars and free Wi-Fi. Suites in the tower feature separate living and sleeping areas, wood-burning fireplaces, and views of the Hudson River. A seasonal outdoor swimming pool and Grotto Bar serving lunch provide places to wile away days, while hiking, bocce, croquet and chess are offered year-round. Onsite dining overlooking the river is offered in the Garden Room, while the luxuriously decorated Oak Room is a popular dinner spot. The hotel also features a full-service spa on property.

World-class service

The views and castle grounds, alone, took my breath away. However, what left the greatest impression on me was the staff’s attention to detail and service. Customer service did not stop at the doorway. One morning when it was drizzling, I ventured down the castle drive on a short walk to the spa, and the doorman promptly ran after me to catch up with an umbrella and to escort me down the drive to ensure I wouldn’t get wet and knew exactly where to go.

A second instance of the stellar service was when one of my bags was left behind. Alison, a staff member, took the initiative to train into the City to meet me to ensure I received my bag that very day.

The views, food, wine tasting, and service made it incredible Halloween with family and friends and I cannot wait to visit again.

The castle was amazing!!! Beautiful and the staff were so accommodating and wonderful!! So many things to do at the castle and around the town. It was definitely a great experience and recommend going! Can’t wait to go back!!
