We stayed for 4 nights in October half term in a family room. The room was really spacious (two queen beds and a double sofa bed) and the beds were all comfy - we slept well. The windows were small (as others have noted as we were side ways vs. facing the water). It didn't matter so much to us as we weren't in the room that much.
Staff were lovely and helpful from check in all the way through to check out. On check in, we learnt we could buy city travel passes at reception (24 or 72 hours). These are brilliant for getting around and as others have said, the ferry stop is right outside (1 min walk). Use the travel pass and the Citymapper app and you can get around, on all modes of transport, very easily.
We contacted the hotel in advance as we wanted to use the swimming pool - others had said you have to pay for the spa but we wanted to be able to swim every day. We were able to get a weekly 'pass' from the spa which saved money and we learnt that children under 16 only allowed from 9-10am every day. In some ways a bit annoying, but I can also totally understand that a spa is not a spa when kids are splashing around! We therefore planned our day around the 9-10 swim and that worked fine; at weekends we swam then ate breakfast but on weekdays (breakfast finishes at 10am) we ate first.
The breakfast is AMAZING. A real spread - catering for gluten free and dairy free folks too. We were really impressed with the choice and the quality of food (breakfast included in room rate).
We ate dinner in the hotel a couple of times - bar menu one night and restaurant a couple of times. Prices are not cheap in Stockholm, but I don't think the hotel is expensive vs. the norm and the food and service were both excellent.
We would definitely return - would be lovely to see it in the summer next time!
