Well recently on a business trip in San Antonio I stayed at this hotel and found staff members to be extremely helpful, friendly and educated on information about the city. Would highly recommend this historic hotel !

Friend's wedding venue ... expected more from a hotel like this. Pretty hotel but rather dated, though it has quite allot of history. Definite stories of hauntings so keep one eye open if your adventurous. Back to the venue part. Cocktail hour, over 150 guests, not enough chairs or tables. Definitely not enough waitperson with trays of nibbles. Then off to formal dinner; chicken, steamed vegetables, bread, salad, dessert and chicken tenders with fries for kids. Let's start with kids' meal. Fries were good, tenders were over fried. Lucky I had snuck in a McDonald's cheeseburger sleeping 3 yr. old grandson didn't eat and he could enjoy with his fries. But even the 10 ye old couldn't eat the tenders. Our chicken was UNDERCOOKED and still slightly raw. The vegetables not totally steamed to the point the carrots were still raw. The salad was a bit wilted but the dressing was great. The loaves of bread were cold and hard. Definitely 420 guests very disappointed. Grooms father and cousin got sick; ate their chicken. Bride totally devastated after paying $$$$. Hotel eventually upgraded their room to the Presidential room for their room but, somehow didn't compensate for their disappointed guests and what should have been a dream evening. Seriously considering having our event here.
