Very nice property that gave us just what we needed

We needed a good night's sleep somewhere between our family in Poway and an appointment the next day in La Jolla, and the Courtyard in Sorrento Valley fit the bill perfectly. This is a property largely focused on the tech and business world in that area, and it definitely had that vibe. There were late night sessions going on around laptops in the lobby and some bro-y guys hanging around a nice firepit on the patio. That wasn't our scene, but it didn't take anything away from our stay.
Check in was very smooth, and front desk treated us very nicely, both in the evening and the next morning. Bed was great. Pillow left something to be desired, but more places are putting pillows of different hardness and softness on the beds and I just didn't try enough of them out (I found the one that would have been perfect for me the next morning).
I always like some sort of complimentary breakfast in the morning, but that isn't this place.

Clean Rooms, Nice Pool Area & Hot Tub

Friendly staff, clean rooms, and great location to our soccer tournament in La Jolla. No free breakfast which is a bummer...Hyatt House which is close to this and just as nice had a nice, big free breakfast. I'd go for that next time, but there is nothing wrong with this hotel.
