Had a nice 3 night stay here for a conference at the Convention Center. This hotel is only block away from the convention center - Hilton Americas was actually the "conference hotel" but If given a choice, I'll always pick Embassy Suites!
The valet staff was quick and attentive. For anyone the complains about the cost of valet parking, you should know that $38/night is fair for full in/out privileges and I had no issues paying this.
The front desk clerk didn't give me my welcome amenities as a HH Gold member, they are usually handed to me immediately.
I have a preference for rooms away from the elevator, but I also wanted a high floor, so I ended up on the 16th floor, with a room next to the elevator. Still - I had virtually no hallway noise...
Breakfast and Cocktail reception were 10/10. The breakfast food was excellent! Cocktail reception was also very good - staff worked quickly and wait was minimal.
My only concerns were with room condition. The cocktail table was very scuffed; the cushions on the sofa had stains (and large tears at the seams), the bathroom vent closest to the shower was dirty. Also, I would urge Embassy Suites to get "Smart TVs" in the bedrooms so I could watch Netflix, etc.
Room was huge! Bedroom was very well appointed and bed was comfy.
Hotel is very well-located with lots of nearby dining options - Minute Maid park is only a 4 block walk for anyone who wants to catch the Houston Astros.
