This bed and breakfast property offers a personalized experience where guests get a lot of personal attention from the lovable owners — Alan and Penne. Quaint, charming rooms are clean and comfortable with cable television, air conditioning, free Internet, a refrigerator and a large bathroom. The property is also beautiful with fruit trees, picnic areas, a waterfall and a pavilion. Families can walk to a “secret” beach, hidden from other tourists. Hilo is a short ride away from the hotel, which is has a secluded feel just outside the city’s reach.
A community kitchen is available and a continental breakfast of corn muffins, cereals, oatmeal and fresh fruit, is served here each morning. Cook-your-own eggs are provided, as well. Guest have full access to the kitchen and may use it at any time. A washing machine and dryer are also on the premises.
This may not be the most luxurious hotel, but many families who are interested in a good value stay at Aaron’s Cottage, as the rates are typically lower than other Hilo hotels. Nearby, families can visit Richardson’s Ocean Park, Pacific Tsunami Museum or Panaewa Rainforest Zoo.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it! Quiet little gem of a place. We booked our stay through booking.com and even though booking.com messed up our reservation we were accommodated us. Room was a typical hotel style room with a nice refrigerator and plenty of room to unpack. Queen bed was very comfortable. Room had air conditioning but you really don’t need it at night. Shared kitchen was stocked with fresh fruit, eggs etc. coffee maker in room. Allen, the caretaker, was always onsite, very helpful and pleasant. If you need something just ask. Rob, the owner, was usually onsite and a real nice and pleasant man. Laundry facilities onsite.
The best part was the beach. Just a short walk. The grounds are very well kept and perfect for a evening of star gazing.

We found Aaron’s Cottages to be lovely. We had a 1 bedroom with private bath that adjoined a common kitchen area. Our room also had a mini fridge. The management was very pleasant and offered multiple times to get us whatever we needed. The place was a great value for the price!
