Nestled in Ponderosa Pine Forest, Maswik Lodge is only a quarter-mile from the Grand Canyon’s edge. The modern lodge is split into North and South sections. Motel-style rooms are open year-round and rustic cabins are available in the summer months. Rooms feature televisions and a full bath. North section rooms are more spacious and offer in-room coffee, refrigerators, air-conditioning and cable television. Cabins are small, with ceiling fans and showers. A large, wooden cafeteria opens early and closes late. The front desk staff is happy to guide families in the right direction toward area trailheads, mule rides or helicopter tours.

The best thing about this motel is the location; within a few minutes on foot you experience one of the most spectacular views of the canyon. The people that work there are helpful in planning tours and are passionate about the park. Services are limited and can be descibed as indoor camping. If you know that going it you will enjoy.

We stayed at Maswik for 2 nights while visiting the Grand Canyon. Great location - just a short walk to the trail head. Friendly staff. The room was very run down and my sheets were stained. They had been laundered- the stains were old - but come on! Bleach or replace. The cold/hot water situation in the shower was a mess. After adjusting to a comfortable temperature everything would be fine for about 2 minutes - then it would go freezing or scalding with no warning. We wanted to spend our short time enjoying the canyon not dealing with management and fixers, so we made the best of it. I would NOT stay there again.
