Grand Canyon Lodge is one of the only lodging options within the National Park on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The landmark hotel is at Bright Angle Point, within walking distance of the canyon rim. Families can stay in motel-style rooms or cabins. Three types of cabins vary in size, accommodating up to six people. Second bedrooms feature bunk beds and sleeper sofas for kids. Select cabins allow for cribs on request. Rooms offer basic amenities, like private bathrooms and rollaway beds for a fee. Children age 15 and under stay at Grand Canyon Lodge for free. The Dining Room serves organic products, including all-natural beef and chicken. Breakfast and lunch menus include buffets with hot and cold dishes. A Cookout Experience allows guests to dine as they did in the good old, wagon-style days. The dinner show is a must-see for children. The Deli in the Pines is a sandwich and salad restaurant made for families on the go. A coffee shop is also at the lodge. Outside the lodge, mule rides are a popular pastime, taking guests down into the Grand Canyon.

The green colored North Rim lodge is a picture on a cliff. Dining at the restaurant with a view over the canyon is an experience that you will remember for a long time. The log cabins are built in the woods within 100 yds from canyon cliffs. North Rim canyons are not of grand scale like South Rim but you will see canyons after canyons far away. It is not too difficult to reserve a mule trip down to the canyon at affordable cost. As a bonus you get access to East Rim. Since NR is a bit far from Las Vegas and 90 min away from Kanab it is wise to sleep in NR.

An extirely different experience than what you get at the South Rim. Another 1200 feet in altitude, so it is wholly another ecosystem. The Lodge and cabins are remarkable. And, if you have a truck (4WD not necessary BUT IS helpful), make sure to take the 17.7 mile drive (which takes close to an hour) that runs to Point Sublime. Be prepared for a 270 degree view of the Canyon.
