Overview

This resort is consistently listed as one of the best hotels in the Paradise Valley near Scottsdale for families. It’s known as a family-friendly destination and great getaway and reunion spot for numerous reasons, many being the ease of access and transportation to the city of Phoenix and major international airport. Mountain Shadows was originally built below Camelback Mountain in 1959, and then was completely rebuilt in 2017 to offer modern amenities and address the needs of today’s traveler. The icon of the location at the base of Camelback Mountain is what continues to draw families and guests decades later.
Incredible hikes are just one mile from the hotel. Families love to go on a long hike in the morning, be back at poolside for lunch, and enjoy an elegant dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, Hearth ’61, before enjoying nighttime skies.
The resort is noted as one of the best remodels of an iconic mid-century modern hotel, and the modern amenities reflect the hotel’s passion for continued family-friendly business. Onsite there is swimming, with trendy cabanas to rent and poolside cocktail service, a juice bar, and nearby Top Golf, Camelback Golf Club, and The Short Course. There is an onsite fitness center and various massage options, too.

This is a great place to stay! Beautiful views from the cabin and very clean and well decorated. We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. The location is minutes from Estes Park but is out of the way just enough to avoid the crowds.
I would recommend staying for just a weekend getaway or it would even work for a long vacation. The cabin was very quiet and very cozy. Came with everything needed.
Thank you.

We stayed there Friday and Saturday night and were greeted by turkeys, deer and a huge elk! It was an amazing stay. We had our blind diabetic dog with us and the room was easy for him to navigate and he was able to get up and down the three stairs very well. The amenities were amazing and the area and view was beautiful. Amber was very welcoming also! We will be back!
