Many families want to visit Atlantis, Paradise Island (as you should), but Atlantis doesn’t offer all-inclusive packages. Luckily, there are plenty of other great Bahamas family resorts, many of which offer all-inclusive rates. Consider one of these all-inclusive family resorts in the Bahamas for your next tropical family vacation. All of these resorts are family- and editor-approved (and ranked in no particular order).
1. Club Med Columbus Isle
Club Med Columbus Isle largely caters to couples, though it’s still a good choice for families with teens—particularly because it offers a Watersking and Wakeboarding Academy, Sailing School, Tennis School and Fitness School, plus scuba diving, kite surfing, table tennis, fishing, bocce ball and beach volleyball. The resort’s pools and beachfront location add to the appeal, as do two onsite restaurants. If you”d like to explore outside of the resort, rent bikes or try an island or lagoon tour, both arranged by hotel staff. Club Med Columbus Isle is secluded on the Archipelago of San Salvador.
2. Melia Nassau Beach – All Inclusive
In Nassau, just across the bridge from Paradise Island and Atlantis, Melia Nassau Beach overlooks Cable Beach. The luxurious resort provides swimming pools with waterfalls, a kids’ club, six restaurants and live entertainment. It also features Kids & Co Family Rooms, with two double beds, private balconies and access to a special reception area for families—complete with snacks and beverages. The resort is located within close proximity of Lynden Pindling International Airport, as well as local shops and restaurants.
3. Small Hope Bay Lodge
One of the best all inclusive resorts in the Bahamas, Small Hope Bay Lodge offers all-inclusive rates and beachfront cabins—the perfect combination for families! Located on Andros Island, the resort features a kids’ program (with a focus on nature), game room, swing set and bicycles for youngsters. Lessons for scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming are also provided, as are tours and lessons at the nearby Androsia Batik Factory, a fabric company. Complimentary babysitting is provided in the evenings; kids ages 2 to 7 dine in the game room while parents enjoy their meal in peace and quiet. Speaking of peace and quiet, expect to totally disconnect at this resort—televisions, phones and internet aren’t available.
4. Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach – An All-Inclusive Resort
Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach is located on Grand Bahama Island in Freeport (which is a cruise ship port). Families enjoy non-motorized water sports, a tennis court, swimming pool, themed events and live entertainment. The resort also offers Viva Kids’ Club, with activities for children ages 4 to 12, plus a children’s playground and pool. Meals are served at three restaurants, one of which offers a buffet, and accommodations include standard guestrooms, many of which offer balconies and connecting capabilities for large groups. Shuttles to the airport or nearby attractions are available for a small fee.
5. Lighthouse Pointe at Grand Lucayan
Opened in 2015, Lighthouse Pointe at Grand Lucayan features all-inclusive rates that cover organized activities, live entertainment, meals at eight restaurants and bars (four at Lighthouse Point and four more at Grand Lucayan), themed dinners, pools, and of course, beachfront access on Grand Bahama Island. Book a room with a private balcony to take in the gorgeous views.
6. Breezes Resort Bahamas All Inclusive
Welcoming families with kids ages 14 and up, Breezes Resort Bahamas All Inclusive sits on a pretty stretch of Cable Beach in Nassau, where you can rent water sports equipment, go swimming, or take a well-deserved nap under the shade of a palapa.
