The Kona coast is known for its luxury resorts, so it can be a relief to find a beautiful hotel with reasonable prices. The King Kamehameha is paired with the only white-sand beach in the heart of Kailua-Kona. You’ll find a calm bay and amazing snorkeling on the adjacent reef. The West Tower rooms have been renovated, and the East Tower is coming along nicely with minimal impact on guests. You’ll find refrigerators in each room and coin-operated laundry machines on the first floor of the East Tower.

I chose this a I know someone who works for Marriott. Good spot, good rates and they agreed that I could have my room until 6pm as my flight was late. I even confirmed this on check-in. They then changed their minds and blamed it on sales and did this on my last day, a few hours before needing to be out of my room, totally ruining my plans for my final day in Hawaii on my birthday. The hotel itself is dated, good location but feels like a corny hotel from the 70s. The reception manager (female) was rude to me today and shrugged despite me showing her my emails confirming my late check-out.

Great location with both a small beach (calm water) and a big pool.
Nice and clean room with a small balcony for 2 people.
Remember to add both the resort fee and parking fee (2 times $25) when you look for the total amount for staying at the hotel.
