Located in Bundoran in the south of County Donegal are the Fairy Bridges along the Wild Atlantic Way coastline. These “bridges” are actually sea stacks or rock formations that — when the tide and water conditions are just right – cause the sea to blow up through the formations. Since the 1700s, locals have said these rock formations are haunted by fairies.
The “wishing chair” is also located here. Poets, surfers and singers have sat in this manmade stone carved “chair” in the ground and their wishes are said to have come true. Make a wish!
