Families can learn about the history of the land and sea of Galway at this museum. Teens will enjoy learning about Medieval Galway times, Ireland’s wartimes, the Wild Atlantic ocean coast and the traditional fishing boat the Galway Hooker.

The museum can be self-guided or families can take a guided tour. Families could easily spend an hour or two here.

Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays noon to 5 p.m. Closed Mondays.

A small cafe is situated just outside the museum entrance overlooking the Spanish Arch.
