Hands-on exhibits and a beautiful IMAX theater make this a stand-out attraction for families visiting Birmingham, Alabama. Highlights include the Bubble Room, where kids can make all kinds of bubbles; Alabama Dinosaurs, where you can see real fossils found in the area; and Science Quest, where you’ll find an anti-gravity mirror (and appear as though you’re floating) and a bed of nails.

The museum also offers some fantastic programs, like Aquarist for a Day, in which kids can prep and feed food to marine life, and a night-at-the-museum experience.

Admission
Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and $14 for kids ages 2 to 12; they include access to both the science center and IMAX theater. Separate pricing/tickets for both attractions are available should you just want to see one of them.
