Box Canyon’s geological fissure feature makes a great quick stop for families to see how the Muddy Fork of the Cowlitz River chiseled a 13-foot wide and 115-foot deep channel into the rock. Stand on the bridge over this narrow slot canyon and admire the glacially fed water rushing far below. The Box Canyon stop also offers a picnic area, water, and restrooms, and makes a nice late afternoon stop after Paradise Visitor Center.
