Chincoteague Bay Field Station provides all-inclusive family camps every summer. Families stay in suite-style living quarters on the station’s campus, which features a full dining hall, outdoor recreation spaces, and an Education Center equipped with aquariums and learning labs. Families choose from activities such as kayaking, canoeing, trips to local historic and cultural sites, crabbing, seining in the inter-tidal zone, a boat cruise and a visit to NASA’s protected Wallops Island. In the evenings, games, campfires, ice cream socials and a seafood boil are available. The camps are led by the station’s education team, so activities have a strong coastal ecology and environmental educational component, so kids learn and play on the family getaway.
