The Butterfly Farm, located on the French side, is a perfect non-beach, family activity that all ages will enjoy. The 15-20-minute guided tour through the butterfly gardens entertains with information about the life of a butterfly (which is only about two to three weeks in the wild) from caterpillar to butterfly and everything in between.
Hundreds of colorful and unique butterflies and moths fly freely around the netted gardens, so don’t be surprised if one lands right on you. (Wearing bright colors can help that happen.) Kids can gently touch the butterflies (when prompted) and are taught about conservation and how to start their own butterfly garden, all with fun stories along the way. Did you know butterflies taste through their feet? There are great photo and video opportunities here, too.
