See recent posts by Beth Luberecki

A trip to Orlando can definitely include a visit to one of the area’s many water parks. But there are also lots of Orlando-area resorts with their own water parks onsite, meaning you don’t even have to leave your hotel property to make a splash.

1. The Grove Resort & Water Park

Entry to the Surfari Water Park is complimentary to guests of the Grove Resort & Water Park. Families can relax in the 695-foot lazy river, race down two curving waterslides, or splash around in the zero-entry pool. For little ones, there’s a separate kids’ area with three smaller slides, water spouts, and a wading pool. For an extra fee ($30 for a 30-minute session), you can ride the waves on the FlowRider Double surf simulator.

This all-suite hotel also offers amenities like its Flip Flop’s Family Fun Center filled with arcade games, a kids’ activity center, and guided pontoon boat tours on scenic Lake Austin.

The whole family has room to spread out at the Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites – Waterpark, the only all-suite Holiday Inn resort in Orlando where some rooms include bunk beds for the kiddos. Everyone can cool off at its Lagoon Waterpark, which features several different waterslides, a kids’ area for younger children, and a large pool hosting poolside activities throughout the day (and watched over by lifeguards).

If you can get the kids out the water, the hotel also has its own nine-hole mini-golf course, the 4-D Experience Theater, and its new Bank Heist Laser Challenge, where the whole family can see who’s the best at being stealthy.

The 54,000-square-foot amenity includes canopy-covered and outdoor areas where the family will find 14 waterslides (including smaller ones for younger kids), swimming pools, and an interactive play area complete with the always fun “tipping bucket” feature. There’s poolside entertainment and daily scheduled kids’ activities.

When the kiddos are ready to dry off, they can head to the hotel’s 6,500-square-foot arcade. Three restaurants plus a convenience store with grab-and-go options help satisfy any appetite (even picky ones).
