Known for the driftwood that scatters the sand, Big Talbot Island State Park is a must-see sight for families visiting Jacksonville, Florida. Visitors can boat, fish and kayak in the water throughout the park. Bone Yard Beach is the area where 30-foot bluffs and old trees line the beach. The trees look almost like bones after years of weathering from the saltwater and sun — hence the beach’s name.

The park is open daily from 8 a.m. to sundown, year-round. The boat ramp is open 24 hours a day. Admission is via an honor box, per vehicle, with a limit of eight people per vehicle. Other fees are charged for visitors via the George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier, the picnic areas and trailheads, and the boat launch.
