This lodge—like most in Guyana—is basic, but the focus is on the surrounding nature and the lodge is simply a place to spend the night. This lodge has six traditional clay brick and thatched cabins. Each has a verandah with hammock.

This former cattle ranch is a fun place for families to stay because adults and kids will have a chance to view giant river otters, giant black caiman and the giant anteaters (Guyana is known as the “land of the giants” and these giant creatures are the reason why).

Also, kids will love the evening ritual of watching the giant water lily, known as the Victoria Amazonica, open (after being closed all day). It’s a fascinating example of nature at its best. Two excursions are offered daily (early in the morning and late in the afternoon).
