Overview
by Lorilee Craker
Built on the previous site of J&L Steel Mill, The Hotel Indigo Pittsburgh-Technology Center honors its steel mill past and takes on the personality of Pittsburgh present. Each of the large rooms features posh bedding, spa-inspired showers, ergonomically designed desk chairs and free Wi-Fi. An onsite restaurant and lounge, “Eliza,” is named after the Eliza Furnace that once existed at the J& L Steel Mill.
For kids who love anything related to machinery, the industrial décor—rectifier doors, piston molds, gear replicas—is sure to fill their gear-loving hearts. Though the hotel is on the outskirts of downtown, it sits right next to the Hot Metal Bridge; families can wander across to a variety of restaurants.
