The Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography offers families with kids of all ages unique exhibits and experiences that focus on aquatic animals. Kids can see a variety of exotic, colorful fish, learn about coral reefs, hear the signature sounds of whales and more. At the tide pools, everyone can get there hands wet while feeling what sea cucumbers, lobsters, hermit crabs and other sea life feel like.
The Birch Aquarium also works with Flagship Cruises to offer families educational whale watching excursions. Daily cruises are offered, with rates starting from $39 per adult and $19 per child.
