This small burying ground, located next door to Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, is the one featured in Washington Irving’s book and where it is rumored the Headless Horseman haunts each night. Self-guided tours of the 3-acre grounds are available year-round. In the fall, don’t miss “Irving’s ‘Legend,’” a masterful one-man reading and performance of Irving’s classic tale, performed in the Old Dutch Church by candlelight. The show is offered on weekend nights in October. Advanced tickets are required to the multiple nightly performances, which do sell out.
