At Kantun Chi, tourists climb and swim through a series of cenotes (sinkholes) and caverns — a truly unique experience in Mexico. The caves are well-lit for exploration, and gear — water boots, life jackets and helmets — are provided (and mandatory) for protection. The entire experience lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Admission is $29 for adults and $14.50 for children; if you reserve tickets online, you’ll save 20 percent. For an additional fee, you can also combine tickets with lunch (though we don’t recommend it — lunch is actually a small selection of salads, plus guacamole and chips).

Note: In two parts of the tour, visitors must put their face in the water (or dip underwater completely) to avoid low-hanging rocks.
