This massive sculpture is part art piece, part jungle gym and part obscure. Artist J. Seward Johnson Jr. created the piece that appears as if a giant man or Greek god is “awakening” and emerging from the earth below. The town center overlooks this piece and the sculpture overlooks the harbor as well, so it’s centrally located. Kids will love to climb all over the sculpture, slide down a giant toe or squeeze inside the mouth.
Movies on the Potomac take place right in front of this sculpture as well.
