Artsy families will appreciate this fine art museum, built in 2009 with climate-controlled galleries for traveling art exhibits and the Northwest-themed Family Interactive Gallery under the same roof (best for the 10-and-under set). Here, kids can experiment with light, go camping and make their own stop-motion movie — keep in mind activities rotate. It’s easy to divide up according to ages and interests. While you’re here, notice the 180-foot curved wall glowing with soft light. That’s the Lightcatcher, catching the Northwest’s precious resource: sunlight. Discounted admission is available on Thursdays. For history buffs, the Old City Hall building, just a short walk from the Lightcatcher, features rotating history exhibits, as well as historical photo archives.
