Pronounced San JIMMYano, this thriving village is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Italy. Known for its 13 towers (torres), the village is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Climb to the top of the San Gimignano Bell Tower and take in the bustle of Piazza della Cisterna, the main square in the town. The views go on for miles.
