Built in 1937, originally for live theatre, this is now one of the coolest movie houses in the country. Several days a week at 4:30 p.m., you can watch the 1941 film “Sun Valley Serenade” shot on location starring Sonja Henie. Plus, it’s free! Note — the movie is also shown on the resort’s in-room cable channel each evening.
Each night at 6:30 p.m., the theater shows child-friendly, animated movies and at 8:30, the latest releases for your teenagers and beyond. Buy dinner at one of the Sun Valley village restaurants and get a free movie ticket. Popcorn, candy and soft drinks are all available at the opera house, too.
