Located in Omaha’s historic Old Market District, this museum is overflowing with unique history. For starters, the museum makes its home inside the beautifully renovated art deco Union Station (with active railroad just outside). The railroad is a big part of Omaha’s history and visitors will find no shortage of train fun here. People of all ages will love experiencing the variety of restored train cars. But, the Durham is so much more than just a train museum. There are a variety of hands-on and historical exhibits. Through relationships with the Smithsonian, National Archives, Library of Congress, and Chicago’s Field Museum, there are often world-class traveling exhibits. And before you go, don’t forget to grab treat! Everyone will love a visit to Union Station’s original Soda Fountain and old-fashioned Candy Shop!
The Durham is closed on Mondays and major holidays. The museum closes at 5pm most days. Children under 3 are free.
