If you climb aboard the Scenic Gondola at Mammoth Mountain, this small center at its summit — a glorious 11,053 feet up — is where you’ll land, and wow, the views from here are breathtaking. Wander around to learn about local natural history — volcanoes, geology, climate, and more -— through some interesting displays, and grab lunch at the onsite cafe. To get down, you can mountain bike, or ski, or simply hop right back onto the gondola.
